Community Server provides a robust blogging application with all of the required features to build, grow, run, and manage both small and large blogging communities.

The Blogs application within Community Server can be used to run 1 or more blogs each with one or more authors. In fact, these capabilities are what make Community Server's blogging capabilities unique allowing the blogging application to grow and change with the ever changing needs of the communty.

Front Page News Aggregate View

The user experience for the blog start page (commonly referred to as the aggregate page) can be fully customized as shown in the Community Server implementation for the Microsoft Window's Vista team:

Community Server is pre-configured to support multiple bloggers and provides an innovative "front page news" style view presenting the reader with a chronologically ordered display of recently published posts in a simple to navigate display:

The listing of content on this front page can be configured to either be ordered chronologically or to use a configurable Post Relevance Sorting algorithm that allows the most relevant and active content to stay on the top of the list longer.

The aggregate page has a variety of tools:

1. Search - Searches content published in the blogging application; it is possible to run searches across all content (including files).
2. Posts - Posts published on this site will be shown in the aggregate view.
3. Mirrored Content - A unique capability of Community Server, Mirrored Content allows any external content published as RSS to be brought into the Community Server site.
4. Tags - Tags provide readers the ability to navigate using keywords to filter content.
